Outcome measures for pain are challenging due to multiple influencing patient and setting factors. One consideration related to measuring time to improvement is whether the palliative care team is directly managing the symptoms, or relying on the managing team to enter orders. Collecting the data you suggest may give you a helpful picture of your program and be useful for an internal quality improvement initiative.
