Hello and blessings to all. I am new to this forum but have many years in chaplaincy.
THe discussions on assessments are valuable.

What I am looking for is a set of interventions and goals that are specific and measurable enough to fit the new COPS and other standards. Interventions such as "Doing grief work" may not be specific enough.

One of the "advantages" of there being no real set standards of practice or outcomes for pastoral care is that they are generally not included in most protocols. It also gives pastoral care the freedom to make up our own. I believe this situation is an example of that. I would suggest that the issue is not interventions, but expected outcomes. So for "doing grief work", an outcome might be "Family member was able to share meaningful memories of the deceased". A good guide for this process is "The Discipline for Pastoral Care Giving" by Larry VandeCreek and the late Art Lucas. An alternate strategy is to look at the applicable outcomes for social work and to write pastoral care equivalents. Hope this helps.
