Post Helping the families after death

We have a memorial service twice a year. Families are invited back. Sometimes this is the first time for them to come back since their loved ones' deaths. As we read out the names, a representative from the family comes to the front to accept a flower (we can't have candles in our building) and is given time to speak about the one who has died. We end the service with a cup of tea and a cookie so the families can visit with the residents who remember them. This also gives me a chance to go around and speak with the families and ensure that they are not too emotional to leave. If they are, I take time with them.
