Hello,
Help me understand your question, "[I] need a guide to show that billing for an NP does work." Are you asking if NPs can bill for their services, or are you trying to show that an outpatient hospice NP can cover their salary and benefit costs through professional fee billing, give a certain number of visits per week/month?

I need to justify my existence! I know that NPs can bill as attending but I don't know anyone that has done it, nor do I know if an NP can cover their salary and benefits through outpatient hospice OR palliative billing. My organization hired me to do inpatient palliative development at a hospital that later decided they would do their own palliative care, so now I have to find a way to create a niche to keep my job. I don't know any hospices in Texas that are using NPs for either hospice or palliative care so I have been told to come up with something and it is a daunting task to come up with, since I came from an inpatient unit where my billing was done by the hospital and the numbers were seldom shown to the clinicians.
