Hi, we have a robust hospital-based palliative care program that includes a social worker who follows patients home at the time of discharge. We are also interested in beginning to explore billing for her services. I understand that because she is LISW, we can do this under mental health services. However, I would love to talk with anyone who is actually billing for their work. I am unclear whether it is necessary to have a physician, and if so, what kind of physician? And is it to simply oversee her practice, or does it involve something more routine and concrete? Also, is this different from state to state? I appreciate any help here...Thanks...Mary
