| Re:face to faces (by SharolHerr on 07/11/2012)
Face to face encounters should be completed prior to or on the day of admission/transfer to the hospice. In exceptional circumstances such as weekend or holiday, the visit may be completed within 2 days after admission but this should in no way be the routine. If this is identified as a trend the program could fall under scrutiny. For an authoritative response please contact Judi Lund Person, National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Vice President for Compliance and Regulatory Leadership. Judi's e-mail address is JLundPerson@nhpco.org". Thanks to Amber Jones, CAPC Consultant for identifying this resource. Sharol Herr, RN, BSN, MSEd, CHPN; Palliative Clinical Manager; Mount Carmel Health Palliative Care Leadership Center; Cols., Ohio.
