Can a MD use CPT 99233 for a Palliative visit and two days later use CPT 99233 for a Hospice visit?

What is the patient's status; are they an inpatient in the hospital? Were they transferred to a hospice unit?

The patient was in a Medicare bed for when the Palliative visist occured, we have a contract for a Hospice bed which is what the patient was transferred to within the same hospital and was changed to a Hospice bed

Without knowing all the circumstances, which often times can be very complicated, it's hard to answer the question with a definite YES. If the MD is not the hospice attending and doesn't have any financial agreement with the hospice agency, I believe the answer is yes.
