I have been having some difficulty with claims in which the patient is in an assisted living facility 99324-99328, 99334-99337. I use a POS code of 13. Edit reason codes indicate a problem with the POS code and/or Facility ID. The ALFs tell me they do not have an NPI number and Medicare says to enter their license number instead of the NPI. Still having trouble though. Has anyone experienced this problem too?

Wondering if I use a POS of 14 perhaps for a "group home?" The state's division of health licensing has the ALFs categorized as a "Community Residental Care Facility."

Thank you for your help!
