Post PC and Oncology visits from same group

Working with a group where there PC team is under the Cancer Center. Can the doctor (an oncologist and PC doc) bill for an oncology visit inpatient and also have the NP visit focused on PC issues if they bill under symptoms?

Seems that there might be some boundary/double billing issues here, but then how do you start a PC team if you are working small?

Who is the physician that the NP will be working in collaberation with? It shouldn't be the same oncology MD already seeing the patient, otherwise billing two E/M services would be double dipping. If the NP is not supervised/working in collaberation with the same oncologist seeing the patient, then you should be able to bill separately for her services. She should be credentialled with CMS as a NP and have her own NPI number.
