Post LCSW billing for an outpatient clinic in South Fl.

Greetings:
I am a new LCSW working in an outpatient palliative care clinic. What specific ways can LCSW employees can bill for their services whether in a home, hospital or the clinic.

Social Workers cannot bill for evaluation and management services. They are limited to billing for psych services (90801,90802,90804,90506,90808,90810 etc.). You should review the Medicare policies; PSYCH-009 Clinical Social Worker Services, PSYCH-014 & PSYCH-013 Psych services under the "incident-to" provision. Knowing these policies is key to billing appropriately for your services.
