Does anyone out there use tracking codes?
Currently we have a strictly RN driven consult service and would like to be able to track in our system.
Preferably we would like it to NOT show up on a pt. bill as a non billable.

We use IDX for billing and we have several tracking/dummy codes set up for various reasons. Since we are an academic center we have services that we cannot bill due to no faculty involvement. While we cannot bill anything we created dummy codes so that we can report to the providers/departments what they are potentially missing. We have several other dummy codes set up that we enter onto the patient's account, but since they have no charges, they are never billed.
