Post Attending Physician and Hospice

A patient on hospice service has elected to retain his attending physician. His attending physician is seeking to recoup payment from Medicaid for services rendered related to the hospice diagnosis. What is the process or modifier the attending should use to receive payment? The attending is a non-hospice physician and the patient only has Medicaid.

Does this provider have a financial arrangement with the hospice agency? Has this provider billed Medicaid and already been denied? Medicaid Hospice benefits is a new area for me, but I'll do what I can to assist you.
