Just a few cautions/suggestions: 1) when comparing across programs for targets, be very careful to ID rolessince the role of the APN and MD vary significantly, which impacts billing and productivity. 2) focus on some quality goals with metrics in the bonus plan (excellent documentation, implementation of quality initiatives, etc.). If using billing related measures, use WRVUs, not revenue, to avoid issues of payer mix. Consider developing internal weights for high value added services that are not billable and then use time tracking - it is very important to credit activity that meets goals, even if not billable. Also doing some minimal threshold of billing may be good - helps create a performance floor, without over-emphasizing "production". Reporting billing /productivity results is useful, but it can easily backfire if used to explicitly for pay.
