That is different if you are part of a small practice and have one billing code for the practice.
In our setting, the ICU director could bill as PC as long as he/she has PC credentials and is not billing on his/her own patients...that he/she saw for PC.
I am an academic oncologist, and none of my PC consults have ever come back denied because my ONC colleagues and I are in the same practice.
I would run this by the billing people at your own institution first before making any assumptions.
