Post HPM physician specialty code - when?

Is anyone aware of when this is going to be activated? I was told by our carrier awhile back to watch the on-line enrollment forms to when #17 will be added. It was my understanding this was to become effective in Oct. Thanks for any insight....

Effective October 1st, although I don't know if CMS has updated the 855i form to include the new specialty code. At the time we made the changes the form hadn't been updated so we sent separate letters with the form telling them we wanted #17 as the primary specialty for each provider.

Thanks Julie - Have you noticed less denials since you have changed your providers specialty #?
