Post Our MD works elsewhere too...NPI questions

Our PC doctors also work in other offices. Do I need to ask them to update their current NPI (since I do not have access to it) to add the taxonomy for "multi-specialty group" and add our practice location? Will this effect their billing at their other locations of employment? I am updating the Medicare 855B...I'm not sure if I should tie their NPI to our Medicare PTAN "as is" or if the MDs need to add our info onto their NPI records first...Any help would be appreciated!

Are the other locations they work for part of your group practice or are they separate? Our group practice is very large and our credentialling department actually has the NPI's and the passwords and makes changes as appopriate.
