I hope you had the chance to hear the CAPC Audio conference yesterday. It was an excellent presentation by business and billing experts to review some of the details about billing. Attention to documentation is often the key to optimal billing and revenues. Our collections precentage is no less for PC then othe medical specialities. Our billers use the same E&M codes for all specialties. To assure that we have optimized our billing potential, we have had coders and billing experts review our documentation and level of service that we are billing. RN's who are documentation experts do concurrent chart reviews to see that there is compliance for documentation. This also is a benefit to the organization to optimize their revenue. I think it is safe to say that PC collections should parallel other medical specialties.
